The government has issued a new guide detailing the tax incentives open to businesses that make donations to charities.
Entitled A Guide to Giving for Business, the document brings together a list of the tax breaks that are available to corporate giving.
The guide also sets out the various ways in which firms can help charitable causes whether by giving money, by donating shares or equipment, or by working in partnership with a third sector organisation through employee volunteering or secondments.
Tessa Jowell, the Minister for the Cabinet Office who launched the guide, said: “The benefits of partnerships between the charitable and private sectors are enormous. Not simply through raising money for charities and causes, but through the sharing of knowledge and the development of staff.”
