The first top 50 SMEs list in North Yorkshire

It is with delight I introduce our research for the first list of the Top 50 SMEs in North Yorkshire, published in The Press, York, earlier this week.

We at BHP Chartered Accountants first became involved in North Yorkshire following our merger with Barron & Barron in York in January 2013, and are delighted to have been so welcomed to the area and to be part of its thriving economy.

As the largest independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Yorkshire we are keen that all the regions of the county, as represented by the four Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), work together for the benefit of the whole.  An example of this is the plan for the successor fund to Finance Yorkshire which has indications of support from all four LEPs and could lead to a further fund of around £100m to support growing businesses in our region.

The survey is, however, about the achievements of North Yorkshire. It highlights some of the success stories, whilst also focusing on opportunities for this region for the future with the increased funding available locally to assist the York and North Yorkshire LEPs’ ambitious plans for its Growth Hub to support determined local businesses.

You can see the Top 50 SMEs in North Yorkshire here.

Our survey shows a region in sound financial health and I look forward to highlighting further success stories in the future.
