BHP are delighted to invite you to a free webinar looking at the future of international trade. This webinar is the start of a series with various industry speakers and a chance for you to shape the topics discussed. These seminars will be interactive with the opportunity to ask questions to the panel.
For our first webinar we are delighted to be joined by Paul Mount, Deputy Agent from Bank of England who will give a perspective on international trade from the Bank of England’s position.
In this webinar we will also be joined by Lisa Leighton (Joint Managing Partner) and Chris Humphreys (tax partner) from BHP and Peter Edwards (CEO) International Trade Forum.

Speakers
Paul Mount, Deputy Agent, Yorkshire and the Humber, Bank of England
Paul is an experienced economist and financial analyst whose career has spanned the civil service, the National Health Service, management consultancy and investment banking. He has experience of working in several sectors of the economy, including transport, energy, telecoms, health and education.
From 2013 to 2019, Paul worked at NHS England/Improvement. His most recent role with the organisation involved providing training and development for NHS frontline staff on quality improvement methods. Prior to that he co-led a large-scale transformation project to improve business intelligence, finance and other business support services available to NHS commissioners.
Paul holds an MSc Leadership (Quality Improvement) from Ashridge Business School and an MSc Economics from Warwick University.
Lisa Leighton, Joint Managing Partner, BHP
Lisa joined BHP in 1995, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998 and was appointed partner in 2008.
Lisa has extensive knowledge and practical experience in providing accounts, audit and business advisory services to growing companies, ranging from owner-managed to international groups.
For seven years Lisa worked in the corporate finance team.
In 2019, Lisa was appointed Joint Managing Partner at BHP.
Chris Humphreys, Tax Partner, BHP
Chris is an experienced Tax Practitioner who prides himself on looking at tax issues with a commercial eye and is able to explain them in a way that takes the jargon out of complex tax legislation.
Chris has over 20 years’ experience, dealing with a wide variety of owner managed businesses, growing companies and family businesses, advising on their taxation issues. Chris specialises in all areas of Corporate and Personal Tax.
Peter Edwards, Chief Executive, International Trade Forum
Peter Edwards is Chief Executive of The International Trade Forum, a member organisation set up to facilitate networking and sharing good practice for any business who wishes to develop their international trade strategy. This facilitation is done through organised events and trade visits to different markets.
Peter has many years of practical experience on exporting as he ran his own manufacturing business until it was sold in 2015. The business sold it’s product to over 60 countries worldwide and Peter also set up a U.S subsidiary in St Louis, Missouri.
Peter became Chief Executive of the ITF in 2018 and since then has led trade visits to Dubai, Prague, Bangkok and Dublin.
