We are delighted to advise you that Yorkshire Bank has announced that their 2015 Annual Spirit of the Community Awards are now open.

Community groups that make a real difference to the neighbourhoods they serve will share £150,000 in funding, as part of the Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank “Spirit of the Community Awards”.

The annual awards recognise and support the vital contribution that voluntary and charitable organisations make to our local communities. There will be two winning projects, one from England and one from Scotland, in each of the following three categories:

Education – focuses on initiatives that advance financial education, including those that promote accessibility to both financial education and financial services;

Employability – focuses on initiatives that build on and develop skills in people to equip them for the workplace and help them become ready for work;

Environment – focuses on projects that protect or improve the environment.

Each of the winning projects will be awarded £10,000 in funding. There will also be six highly commended in each category, three from both England and Scotland, who will receive £5000.

The closing date for applications is Friday 6 March 2015 and the winners will be announced in summer 2015.
