BHP Financial Planning Limited, one of Yorkshire’s leading providers of independent financial advice has been awarded the prestigious ‘Chartered Financial Planners’ title by The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). BHP Financial Limited is owned by Barber Harrison & Platt, Yorkshire’s leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants.

Chartered status is an exclusive title only awarded to firms which meet rigorous criteria relating to professionalism and capability. All Chartered Financial Planners commit to the CII’s Code of Ethics, reinforcing the highest standards of professional practice in their business dealings.

BHP Financial Planning specialises in providing advice on all types of investment and life assurance for individuals and businesses.

Joy Clegg, Managing Director, says that securing Chartered Financial Planners status is a landmark for the company: “Tighter regulations for Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs) have meant that over recent years there are fewer IFAs and a further dramatic reduction is anticipated. At BHP Financial Planning we have always prided ourselves on being thoroughly professional in everything we do, and to receive external recognition in this way is very gratifying. As Chartered Financial Planners, we can signal our commitment to the highest levels of service to our clients. In addition our clients really appreciate the fact that they can choose whether they would like to be advised by a male or female adviser as the team comprises an equal number of each”

To date, fewer than 400 firms have achieved Chartered status, indicating that this is an exclusive award reserved for the leading firms within the financial advice market.
