Nicola O’Sullivan, Director at BHP, will provide an overview of the new Charities SORP, focusing on what academy trusts need to do now to prepare for the changes expected to apply from their 2027 year end. The session will set out practical steps trustees should be taking in advance, including early engagement with auditors and advisors, ensuring finance teams and boards understand the direction of travel, and building sufficient time into year-end processes to manage transition.
Womble Bond Dickinson will give practical guidance on responding to complaints and dealing with subject access requests (SARs), including key legal obligations, common pitfalls, and managing timescales. As well as insight drawing on real-world experience into handling overlapping or tactical complaints and SARs.
