BHP charity conference

We had a great day last Tuesday at the BHP Charity Conference. It was the first time that we held the event in York following our merger with Barron and Barron earlier this year. York Racecourse was  the venue for the day which was fantastic (including a tasty buffet!) and we had a great view of the racecourse. 66 delegates attended from a wide range of charities across the region. The atmosphere was really positive and the delegate feedback was excellent.

A range of internal and external experts presented on a variety of topics including:

  • a review of the Charity SORP Exposure Draft including key aspects of Charity Finance Group’s consultation response;
  • VAT and Tax updates;
  • Collaborative Working and Economic Evaluation (Impact Reporting).

Breakout Sessions were also a first for us. These were popular with our guests and generated much debate – the topics were The Cost Sharing Exemption, Auto Enrolment and Trustee Responsibilities.
