BHP makes a mark with charity trustee training programme

2019 event and speakers

We have just finished hosting our annual Charity Trustee Training Programme for the fifth year in a row. We invite charity trustees from across the region to attend the free training seminars in Yorkshire, and we’re proud to say that they have been a huge success right from the start.

The sessions were split across three different dates all promising to help those working for charities as trustees. The events were held between March and July at; The Hospitium, York, The Hepworth Gallery, Wakefield and The De Grey Rooms, York.

For 2019 we hosted an advanced training session alongside our existing introductory seminar. Giving the chance to those who have attended previous introductory sessions, to develop their understanding further.

Speakers included our Head of Charities, Jane Marshall, who said: “It was a great opportunity to share some thoughts on financial duties and the responsibilities of a charity trustee, which I hope everyone benefitted from.”

Alongside Jane, Catherine Rustomji, Partner at Browne Jacobson, presented on the requirements of charity trustees and their legal duties.
