What is your role at BHP?
I joined BHP as an Employment Tax Partner, following 17 years of working for Big 4 and mid-tier firms. I support employers across all sectors in managing the increasing costs and challenges associated with rewarding people via payroll, expenses, or non-cash benefits. My advice supplements the wider tax team offerings but also supports audit and client transaction activity (both pre-exit and deal-related).
What are you most passionate about?
I am passionate about providing clients with tailored advice and practical solutions, including designing and implementing policy and control frameworks, staff training, communications, and process aids.
I aim to reduce business costs and/or processing time while minimising client risk exposure.
What keeps you motivated?
Few things. The client achieved a positive outcome (saved money or resolved a dispute), the team was satisfied with the output delivered, or a junior felt confident about a new topic they were trained on.
What is your favourite thing to do at the weekend?
Exploring forests/beaches/peaks with the family (Labrador and two children).
