The income tax threshold, the point at which people pay income tax, may see a marked rise in the Budget.
Part of the Coalition Government’s agreement was to increase the threshold to a point where no-one earning less than £10,000 a year would be charged income tax.
Mr Osborne may raise the current threshold to a higher level again, perhaps balancing the effect by reducing the threshold at which people pay 40 per cent in tax.
