BHP is proud to have become a Great Place to Work Certified Organisation, following an independent survey carried out by the global authority on workplace culture Great Place to Work.
The survey gathered details from our employees on a wide range of criteria, including inclusivity, flexibility and career progression and the firm scored 86 per cent on the Great Place to Work criteria – well above the 65 per cent threshold to achieve certification.
On measurables such as treating staff fairly regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation, and feeling welcome when joining the company, more than 95 per cent of employees agreed.
When asked to provide feedback on what makes BHP a great place to work, employees praised the firm’s flexible working opportunities, open door policy adopted by senior management and attitude towards career progression.
Lisa Leighton, Joint Managing Partner at BHP, said: “This is the first time that we have carried out the Great Place to Work survey with our employees, so we’re thrilled to have achieved such a great score. It acknowledges our commitment to creating a positive workplace for our team.
“We regularly ask our people for feedback on what we can do better but receiving such glowing endorsements of our working culture through an independent survey reaffirms our belief that we have created a place for people to thrive at BHP.”
Hamish Morrison, Joint Managing Partner at BHP, said: “Our Great Place to Work accreditation not only recognises how well we look after our team but also enables us to attract prospective employees and graduates who would choose BHP over other firms because of our culture and values.
“I’d like to thank everyone who contributed to the survey, and I’m delighted that the feedback has been so positive. We pride ourselves on our supportive working environment and it’s great to hear how much it is valued and appreciated by the team. It’s equally extremely useful to get such detailed feedback on the areas where we can do better, so we can keep on trying to improve what we are doing as a firm.”
BHP has previously been recognised for its employee support and workplace culture, including being named in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For.
