Local businesses pull together for charity

BHP Chartered Accountants raised over £2,000 for The Chesterfield Royal Macmillan Cancer Centre Appeal at a Race Night it held at the Proact Stadium.

Partner Dominic Staniforth said “We were delighted to see so many businesses come together to help raise thousands for the new cancer centre. NatWest, MTM Products, BRM Law, Padley and Venables, Santander, and RBS all generously backed the event – sponsoring the races which ran on the night. Together with our delegates from other businesses from around Chesterfield, we were able to do something not only fun, but really worthwhile.”

Tracy Townend, who represented Macmillan Cancer Support at the event, spoke about the impact that the cancer centre will have on the area, highlighting how it will make life easier for local people affected by cancer.

Partner Dominic Staniforth added “In total we have now raised over £3,000 for Macmillan – but we don’t want to stop there. We are running a charity ball at the CASA Hotel on 6 May next year, and with the support of local businesses we hope to make an even bigger difference to helping Macmillan to reach their target for the centre.”
