The financial planning arm of Yorkshire and North Derbyshire’s largest independent firm of Chartered Accountants, BHP Financial Planning Limited, is continuing to expand its team of young talent with the appointment of Tim Clasper, as a Chartered Financial Planner, based in its Leeds office.

Working alongside BHP Chartered Accountants to ensure a coherent approach to Financial Planning for business owners and directors, Tim will also look after a range of private clients advising on cash flow planning, inheritance tax and pensions. Working closely with the tax team this joint approach allows holistic advice all under one roof.

The 26-year-old will be reporting directly to Joy Clegg, Managing Director of BHP Financial Planning.

Tim said: “I am excited to have joined a firm that is growing at the rate BHP is. They have a modern approach to working with accountants and dealing with clients, with a focus on lifestyle financial planning.

“Working in Leeds – the financial centre of the UK outside of London – Will allow me to support some really interesting and innovative businesses and shareholders in achieving their objectives.”

Prior to joining BHP, Tim studied Business Economics at Northumbria University, and progressed through the St. James’s Place Next Generation Academy, whilst completing professional exams.

Following his training, Tim worked as a Wealth Management Consultant for St. James Place Wealth and subsequently Walker Crips in York.

Tim added: “I believe the average age of a financial advisor is in their 50s so it’s nice to try and breathe some fresh air into the industry.”
