The team at BHP were delighted to win National Audit Team of the Year 2019* at this year’s prestigious British Accountancy Awards held in London.

The awards are organised by Accountancy Age in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). They celebrate excellence, professionalism and innovation in the accountancy industry.

Dynamic team leading the way in audit innovation

Joint Managing Partner, Lisa Leighton, said: “We are thrilled to win this award. Across our five regional offices, we know we have the best audit and assurance team in the country. It is great to have the capabilities, expertise and insight of our 350+ strong team recognised by the Institute and our industry peers. The award is testament to the whole firm’s dynamism and commitment to innovation.”

Head of Audit, Paul Winwood, added: “Technology is continuing to revolutionise audit and assurance. At BHP we embrace this. We are pioneers. We continue to evolve, adapt and lead, making the most of the latest advances to help our clients”.

BHP Data Analytics and Advisory

Said Lisa: “Using Data Analytics, we can now review a company’s entire population of figures. This means that we can see the bigger picture. We can now identify specific, higher risk items instead of relying on random samples. We can do this faster, more efficiently and with pinpoint accuracy. Moreover, through BHP Advisory we have the opportunity to use companies’ data to gain more valuable insights and work with them to maximise their growth opportunities.”

Lisa concluded: “This year we have been recognised in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For, we have won Mid-Tier Firm and Best Employer of the Year at the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards and been recognised for outstanding CSR. We are delighted to add this prestigious accolade of National Audit Team of the Year 2019 to our achievements.

“As Joint Managing Partner with Hamish Morrison, we could not be prouder of Team BHP. We have an outstanding firm which will continue to go from strength to strength”.
