What is your role at BHP?
I am a Tax Partner at BHP and provide tax advice to a range of clients, from start-ups to listed businesses. I strive to build good relationships with clients so I can really understand their business and personal aims, so I can ensure that I provide relevant, practical tax advice and planning.

What are you most passionate about?
Helping people better understand and navigate their tax affairs! The UK tax system is so complicated it's easy for people to trip up over rules and miss opportunities to save tax without the right advice at the right time. I love that I get to give people peace of mind, knowing their tax position is taken care of.

What advice would you give trainees starting out?
Be curious!

It's easy to think a career in tax is about rules and calculations (and it is to an extent), but it's also about finding out about a client's plans and aims so that you can keep them informed and apply those rules in the best way possible. Asking great questions means you'll be able to give great advice.

What is your favourite thing to do at the weekend?
Pottering about in my garden (on a sunny day!)
