What is your role at BHP?
I am head of Risk Services, managing and advising on our internal commercial risk management strategy and key areas of compliance. I also lead the firm’s forensic accounting team, bringing 35 years of experience in forensic accounting, dispute resolution, and valuations to assist our clients in navigating complex and contentious situations, achieving pragmatic and beneficial outcomes.

What are you most passionate about?
Being really pragmatic in dealing with thorny issues. Cutting to the chase and dealing with what really matters in reaching solutions.

The variety and complexity of the issues we deal with and reaching successful conclusions.

What advice would you give trainees starting out?
Be a sponge. Eat up any opportunity to broaden your skill set and experience. Always keep learning, and never be tempted to believe you might know it all.

What is your favourite thing to do at the weekend?
Time spent with family and friends (and Barnaby the dog), sharing food and wine, stories and experiences (except Barnaby only drinks beer these days)!
