That’s why we’ve anchored ourselves in five core values: fairness, integrity, compassion, progressiveness, and humility.
One way we demonstrate our commitment is through our journey with Great Place to Work certification, which recognises companies that create an outstanding workplace culture and employee experience.
While these awards are a fantastic achievement, the most gratifying part is the honest reflection of how our employees feel about working at BHP. In 2023, we were named among the UK’s Best Large Workplaces, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women, and the Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance. This was followed in December, by BHP officially becoming Great Place to Work accredited for the second year running.
And while we use this certification to measure and track employee experience against key metrics and industry leaders, the highlights from our accreditation also showed us that more than 90% of respondents said:
- They are treated fairly, regardless of race, sexual orientation, sex and age.
- BHP is a physically safe place to work.
- Our management is honest and ethical in its business practices.
- When joining the company, employees are made to feel welcome.
- They are provided with the resources and equipment to do their job.
Others where we scored highly included being treated as a full member of the team regardless of position, and that respondents are proud to work at BHP.
While some time has passed since last year, we’re proud to have continued advancing our accreditation in 2024 by actively listening and acting upon the feedback we have received. We’ve already been named in the list of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development, and the UK’s Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance.
These accomplishments are aligned with our refreshed purpose, vision, and values as we ensure that BHP remains a thriving place to work for everyone.
