Looking to start your career in accountancy? Want to work with the region’s leading independent firm? Then BHP is the place to start!
We are now recruiting for our September 2017 intakes of Graduate trainees and Professional Placement students.
BHP graduates undertake a fully supported three-year ACA training agreement, during which you will gain invaluable experience on a whole range of client assignments to help you put your theoretical technical learning into practice and ultimately achieve Chartered Accountant status. Click here for more information about becoming a trainee chartered accountant with us.
Professional Placements – we offer opportunities within our Audit & Accounts and Corporate Finance teams for undergraduates seeking a year in work as part of their degree studies. Typically, students return to BHP post-graduation to undertake an ACA training agreement – a placement is the ideal way to “try out” your planned career before committing longer-term. Information about placements within the Audit & Accounts team at BHP can be found here. If you are keen to get an insight into the world of Corporate Finance, with a multi-award winning team, click here for further information or visit www.bhpcorporatefinance.co.uk.
For all roles, you will need to be on course for a minimum of a 2:1 degree and have 280 UCAS tariff points (excluding General Studies). You will need to demonstrate your enthusiasm and commitment to work with BHP and provide our clients with the high quality of professional service which they expect from us. Personality and inter-personal skills are fundamental to BHP’s success and are just as important as academic ability – our clients expect to deal with approachable, responsive people who communicate at their level and instinctively understand their commercial concerns; people who will go that extra mile to find a solution and offer them the very best support and advice.

Take a look at what clients have to say about us elsewhere on our website, read about our people and our history and what we offer to our clients, and then, to make a formal application, please click here for graduate entry; here for Placement entry. The selection process will be ongoing from November, although the official deadlines for applications are 31 December 2016 for graduate entry; 31 January 2017 for Professional Placements. Selection consists of online testing, face to face interviews and, for graduates, the final stage will be an Assessment Centre in February.
