Three tax experts at BHP Chartered Accountants have successfully completed the UK’s most in-depth taxation qualification to become fully qualified Chartered Tax Advisers.

Mark Trevenna, Jessica Finley and Ashley Ward have all completed The Chartered Institute of Taxation’s Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification. This latest success means the firm’s tax division now has 20 Chartered Tax Advisers within its 35 strong team, which reinforces its position as the largest tax team in the region.

Anyone completing the rigorous CTA qualification must already have a relevant professional qualification in place. Participants have to study six different areas of taxation and pass four, three hour long, written examinations followed by further exams in law, professional responsibilities and ethics, as well as incorporating three years of professional experience into their studies.

Zoe Roberts, a partner in BHP’s tax division, says: “The CTA qualification is widely recognised as the gold standard for tax professionals and it requires a serious amount of dedication and study time. As a result Mark, Jessica and Ashley have all done extremely well to pass this prestigious qualification and there’s no doubt it will stand them in good stead for the future and further enhance the level of service and advice that our clients have come to expect.”

BHP Chartered Accountants employs more than 300 people across five offices in Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. The company’s tax specialists advise clients ranging from individuals to multi-national businesses on all areas of tax including business taxes, personal taxes, capital taxes, VAT, indirect taxes, trusts, estates and employment taxes.
